Successful Art Investment – Choosing Art For Investment

One of the difficulties of purchasing art is choosing what to buy and its even harder when you are purchasing for investment purposes. Although you may not have the knowledge, information or experience to be able to make an informed decision there are people out there who do.

You may have noticed that many large companies such as Deutsche Bank have significant art collections which are often made up of emerging and mid career artists. Most of these companies with art collections will have to justify their purchases to their board, staff, clients and investors which means that they need to be as sure as they can that they are making a good investment. I’m sure you can imagine that it would be very bad for a company to invest in art that was going to go down in price so these companies would have to make sure that they had as much information and knowledge behind their purchases as possible.

So as you can see it is well worth taking note of what these companies put into their corporate art collections as the choices they make are extremely important.

  1. What to buy.. When I get a job I’m going to buy paintings and
drawings made by students. Well.. it’s pretty
affordable and I wouldn’t say that all students
have bad paintings. There are some really good
ones I like and they are not famous.. YET.. 🙂
Good blog, I will come back 😉

  2. How can we get a list of at least the artist that make up the corporate collections? Thanks!
